Shunning,, let's twist the knife in a little deeper now !
by man in black inthis morning i took my dog who is a therapy dog over to the hospital and visited with several patients.
it is quite an experience, and it really helps people undergoing medical treatment to calm down and relax.. my wife was one of those patients, she is undergoing some tests before getting her gall bladder removed which will probably be sometime tomorrow.. afterwards i took the dog home, cleaned her up, and changed my clothes.
since i was alone i drove over to panara to try one of their breakfast sandwiches, several of the nurses told me that they are pretty good.

MIB, glad the wifey surgery went well; wish her a speedy recovery.
As to your reaction to the the dubs snubbing you, you are way too kind (which is a wonderful thing). It would have been really difficult for me not to give them all "f@#k you" looks while smiling in their faces all along....but that's just me.
I don't have a dog yet, but when I get one, it would be like yours

History & facts show NOBODY individuals or group,I.D.themselves as Jehovahs Witnesses b4 Judge Rutherford in the mid 1930`s
by smiddy inno body or group in the hebrew sriptures ( o/t ) ever identified themselves as a jehovah`s witness.
no body or group in the christian greek sriptures ( n t ) ever identified themselves as a jehovah`s witness.
in fact the word" jehovah" never appeared before the 12th century.

Child Health Watchtower deception!
by Marvin Shilmer inchild health watchtower deception!.
today i uploaded a new article addressing a particularly evil deception watchtower promotes in its july 15, 2011 watchtower journal.
when watchtower does what it does in this instance the higher-ups have to know they are misleading folks.

Marvin, you say: "The freedom of believers to choose medical treatments says nothing whatsoever about whether a given choice protects the health of believers."
I would like to expand upon it. As already pointed out on this board and elsewhere, this "freedom" is akin to the freedom of a hostage to not yield the armed hostage taker's threats and run away. Actually, I am not so sure...seems the hostage has a theoretical chance of running away without being shot to death; not so with the Watchtower.
The cowardly wording have it both ways for the WT: If the poor soul chooses blood to save their life - it was their decision - DF. If they choose no blood and die - it was their decision - don't look at us....

How would you respond to this JWs assertions?
by Vanderhoven7 inmy questions posted to mr. penny.
do jehovah's witnesses teach their members to shun ex-jehovah witness family members living outside the home?
do you support this practice?

Yes. When mistakes are made and found out we admit them and correct them.
Really?!?!
And where exactly does it say: "We were wrong. We take full responsibility for [insert flip-flop doctrine] and we offer our sincere apologies to all affected".
Quietly making 180 does not constitute an admission or correction of a mistake.
What a freaking drone!

Question about 607/587
by drewcoul ini am not an expert on this issue.
i have read and re-read information about it, but i guess i am somewhat dense when it comes to this topic.. my question is simple: the watchtower suggests that they believe the bible is the unerring word or god.
that it must be believed above anything else.

Even IF the date of 607 BCE is correct, WHY should anyone connect the Book of Daniel to the Book of Luke?
Ugh..c'mon now LWT, because the Bible is the inerrant word of God, it is all color coordinated by God himself and it couldn't have been written by some regular folk based on a story of a story of a story of a story of a story of a tale that someone told their children to make them behave....

Evolution 2.0
by botchtowersociety inwill we all be tweaking our own genetic code?you have to wonder what's going on in the dna of harvard genetics professor george church.. what extra bit of code does he have that the rest of us don't?
if genes tell the story of a person's life, then some altered sequence of 'a's, 'c's, 'g's and 't's must be at play, because his brain works like almost no one else's.. about 30 years ago, prof church was one of a handful of people who dreamed up the idea of sequencing the entire human genome - every letter in the code that separates us from fruit flies as well as our parents.
his lab was the first to come up with a machine to break that code, and he's been working to improve it ever since.. once the first genome was sequenced, he pushed the idea that it wasn't enough to have one sequence, we needed everyone's.

But are we READY for it?
Are we ready for it?!? Go ask this question the parents of a child dying of cancer.....
If it is available, if it was discovered with our (god given) ability to think and research, yes, we are ready!

Jeff, good effort. Two things:
- get rid of the GoDaddy ad at the bottom of the page, even if you have to pony up few bucks a month. Personally, I think it has an unprofessional facet to it.
- The third person description of your skills and achievements in the "About" section feels cold. I would put instead a modified version of a case study where you show how your skills and achievements solved someone's problem.
Other than that, I like the clean design and simple color scheme.
The best of luck and prosperity with the biz
